On October 25th, Texas AMA had the pleasure of hosting representatives from Slack to provide AMA members with insight on working with Slack, the interview and application process, and opportunities that students can get involved with. Slack is a digital HQ where work flows between your systems, people, partners and customers. Millions of people around the world use Slack to connect their teams, unify their systems, and drive their business forward.

AMA sought out high-professional individuals within the Slack team to address questions and provide insight on the culture and opportunities that Slack contains. They shared their perspectives on the adaptability and resources that Slack takes part in.

Some interesting facts that stood out to me are that Slack has over 200,000 paid customers and more than 150 countries have daily active users in Slack. This information is important because it represents all of the marketing, consulting, digital media, etc, that went into creating this company to then expand all across the world.

To dive deeper into what the application actually does, I took time to expose myself to the branding of what Slack is. On their website Slack is described as a “digital-first ecosystem for work.” It gives you the ability to connect your conversations with the tools and services that you use to get the job done. With over 2,500+ apps and a robust API, the Slack platform team works with partners and developers globally to build apps and integrations that streamline your work, automate mundane tasks and bring context into your conversations in Slack.

Overall, AMA members enjoyed an informative and insightful presentation as well as bagels from Einstein during this interactive speaker session with Slack.
