Texas AMA, The University of Texas at Austin’s chapter of the National American Marketing Association, is an organization focused on developing a thriving generation of marketing professionals. We are a group of students across many disciplines and majors who are passionate about marketing

Our organization is committed to connecting the academic and professional aspects of marketing through interactive speaker series, workshops, certificates and more. Our social and philanthropic efforts strengthen bonds within our organization and with our community. Finally, we provide meaningful, hands-on experience to our members through our student-run Consulting Agency Group and Content Committee.

As an organization, we foster a culture of curiosity and passion for marketing. We would love for you to be a part of it! At Texas AMA, we are able to explore, tour, and immerse ourselves in a variety of companies across Austin. WHAT IS MARKETING?

So, what is marketing? The national American Marketing Association defines marketing as “the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.”

Marketing comes in all shapes and sizes, and is becoming an increasingly essential function for a successful business. From defining pricing structure to optimize sales to conducting market research to understand your customers’ needs to producing and airing TV advertisements during the Super Bowl, marketing professionals across the globe are making huge impacts on businesses and society.


MARKETING AT McCOMBS

Students are given the tools to succeed in today’s fast-paced, constantly evolving marketing ecosystem. The marketing department at McCombs gives students the underlying foundation necessary for a successful marketing career while encouraging hands-on, real-world applications of what they are learning in the classroom.

The McCombs undergraduate marketing program is currently ranked 5th in the nation by US News & World Report.
